Purpose

The Peat Portal is a website dedicated to peatlands. It aims to provide in-depth knowledge about peatlands and the threats they face and up-to-date information about what's happening around the world related to peatland management. It is intended to be a platform for information dissemination and exchange among researchers, scientists as well as amongst environment related experts or stakeholders.

Website Management

Peat Portal is managed by Global Environment Centre (GEC), a Malaysian non-profit NGO that has a strong focus and expertise on tropical peatland management and rehabilitation. The website has undergone many changes since 2004 and 2010 will see the website receive a new facelift and direction. We hope
